Kingsley Special Academy have a lockdown policy in place which is reviewed regularly. Please see below information for guardians that can be disclosed without jeopardising our school procedures.

In the event of a lockdown, any incident or development will be communicated to guardians as soon as is practicable.

• Please be assured that the school understands your concerns for your child’s safety and that everything possible is being done to protect them.
• DO NOT call school as this will block vital communication lines.
• DO NOT travel to the school as it may put you in danger, interfere with the emergency services and we will not release any pupils during a lockdown.
• WAIT for school to contact you.

Emergency services will support the decisions of the headteacher regarding the timing of any communication to guardians.
